Pictures. Here are some.

Finally I find an excellent internet connection. I'm sat in Loei, having checked in to the swishest hotel in town (there isn't much competition mind), sweating my knackers off. I'm in an internet cafe with banks of Thai kids maiming, killing, scoring, shooting, slicing and dicing similar banks of kids in far-flung corners of the world.

As promised, here are some pics. I have utilised the cutting edge of computer graphics packages (MS Paint) to seamlessly splice together some panoramic shots. You can click the photos to make them bigger. So here goes...

The School Sign

The School!

My home for the first few days. The Assumption Sisters' Convent

Scouting! It was the School's annual scout camp the first two days I was in Tha Bom.

Oh how I laughed as the kids squirmed and squealed as they got their faces painted. Until it was my turn.

My intrepid group of adventurers.

My intrepid group of adventurers. Shortly before getting lost.

Back on track and taking a break.

View from the School...looking kind of north east. I think.

The Mighty Mekhong River. Crocodiles just out of shot.

...and the Mekhong again

?!

One of the quirky accommodation options in Chiang Khan

An ace cafe bar in Chiang Khan

The road to watery adventure

Watery adventure!

The gang, monkeying about.

WEAVING.

"...wax on...wax off...wax on...wax off...". Incomprehensible, but probably very wise, words from the Mr Miyagi of weaving

Your correspondent.

...and that's your lot, for now. I'm hungry and the smell of food hangs heavy in the air. Until next time folks!
