Photograph. Lots of photographs. Lots of VERY BIG photographs.

Not in the right chronological order. Can't be arsed to sort them. Sorry!

Tha Bom street shots

A back street in the village

House!

Street view down the high street

House!

Street; dogs; kid on bike. A fairly typical road scene in Thailand.

The kids that knock about at Father Preecha's house after school. Adam piecing together his bike in the background.

Father Preecha's house and my home for the first two months.

The church and the bloody bell.

Part of the village-wide PA system; which seesm to be used to encourage the people to work hard in the fields at harvest time and to wake dozing foreigners up.

One for mum here... a sign telling me to take precautions against mosquitoes and the subsequent, inevitable onset of malaria. Still haven't got any more tablets.

The state-run primary school kids in class & at their Sports Day

Cute little muckers:

I'm in there somewhere

A kid actually taking notes about what I taught them!

Sports Day starts with dancing.

Some of the St. John's 5th years students come for a nosy

(from left to right: Wanida, Sirinipha (head girl & good english), dunno, dunno, Ben)

Tug of War

Hit a biscuit tin with a stick whilst blindfolded

HIT IT! BLOODY HIT IT!

The lasses that followed me around for most of the day.

St. John's Sports Day

The Red team gets ready to parade around the village.

The front of the parade, that started the Sports Day. Don't ask what it says on the sign. Probably "St John's Sports Day".

The marching band stolen from the primary school for the morning.

Here come my lot! Red team show their colours.

He appeared and I feared for fiery deaths...

...especially when he climbed a ladder, to light the beacon...

...and with his mates trying stopping him from tumbling, with flaming torch, on to tinder dry grass.

The Red team cheerleaders warm up

The Red team lasses giving it their all.

The Pinks strut out

...and....SMILE...

The Pink girls doing their thing.

GO!

Sack race. I was surprised that they didn't lob a snake in just to make it more Thai in its approach to health and safety.

Come on REDS!

Co-ordination...it's all in the co-ordination. Nobody told these lot though.

Tug of War

The girls giving it a good tug...

Two scamps admiring (pocketing) the trophies. The lad on the right, Mot, challenged me to a chillie eating competition on my first day in Tha Bom. I won.

Sister Sol hands out the prizes

...and some deep fried snacks/further prizes. I was in the Red team. I was very proud.

Ajarn Aran takes over. He's the headteacher.

The Red team and it's haul for the day.

Random snaps from out and about

The view from Phu Reua (a big mountain about 3 hours drive from Tha Bom) where we were meant to catch the sunrise.

Gene, Shelle and Matthew. They've all been great to me and really looked after me from day one! Notice beer. It was 7.30am.

The Buddha at the summit.

Me and the Buddha at the summit. In my eyes you can almost see regret and wary anticipation (the night before's white whiskey and the imminent Leo beer).

One of Loei's markets

Herbie Works For The Man - The Herbie film they didn't want you to see.

One day...one day... *slips off in to daydreaming of riding back to England on one of these fellas*

That's all folks!
